        news Severe Hyperglycemia Induced by Olanzapine was Improved with a Recovery of Insulin Secretion after Switching to Risperidone and Introducing Insulin Therapy

        Summary points:A 35-year-old female patient who had been treated for schizophrenia with olanzapine for about 30 months is referred because of post-prandial hyperglycaemia. Laboratory data, treatment, and outcomes are described. The authors discuss a case of severe hyperglycaemia induced by olanzapine which was improved with a recovery of insulin secretion after switching to risperidone and introducing insulin therapy.
